Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about the product and billing.
What do I need to get started with TraceAir?
Start with a quick demo. We’ll discuss your specific projects and challenges, show how it works, and outline the workflow. When you’re ready, we handle a simple project setup so your team can begin scanning and reviewing in TraceAir right away.
Is TraceAir expensive?
Pricing scales with project size and scan frequency; it can be as lean or as comprehensive as you need. No job is too small or too large to benefit from TraceAir. The cost of not using TraceAir is what gets expensive: missed dirt balance, rework, delays, and change-order disputes add up fast. Think of it like insurance that pays for itself, by catching issues early and aligning pay apps to real quantities, most teams see immediate ROI on the first project.
Do I need to own a drone?
Nope! We work with local, licensed pilots to fly your site. If you have an internal or contracted pilot, we can process their data into the TraceAir platform.
How many licenses are included?
Unlimited. We don’t charge per seat, so everyone involved—field, office, subs, consultants—can access the same source of truth.
Is TraceAir useful if my grading contractor is on a lump-sum contract?
Yes, most of our customers use lump sum contracts with their grading contractors. TraceAir helps prevent project delays, ensure billing accuracy, and save money on consultants.
Does TraceAir help with SWPPP, drainage, and erosion control on Florida sites?
Yes. TraceAir has specialized stormwater tools that help teams identify drainage low points, flood zones, and erosion risks early—so mitigation happens before problems surface.
Can TraceAir work on wooded or partially cleared Florida sites?
Absolutely. Our LiDAR options capture accurate topography even through tree cover or rough terrain, giving teams an early look at elevation and drainage patterns before full clearing.
How does TraceAir help manage Florida’s varied site conditions?
Florida’s sandy, shifting soils and shallow water tables make grading tricky. TraceAir helps teams track elevation changes, monitor cut/fill balance, and verify pads and swales to keep drainage performing as designed—especially after heavy rain.
